    New Beef Registry

IE 8  Agree about Firefox, I just haven't downloaded it to this computer yet. I'm not sure why I can't view the pages either.  Makes no sense, but I honestly can't see any of the paragraph text on the "what is a composite" & "composite advantage" pages.  However, I can read the rest of the site...

    New Beef Registry

Still not seeing anything except for a template & blue header text on the "what are composites page".  Using IE.   The really weird part... I checked the source code & I see the paragraph text on it (Arial - 10 pt).  Not sure what is going on, but I am not having this problem with other...

    New Beef Registry

I agree with that.  I can see negatives & positives with this deal.  With that said, aint nothing or nobody perfect, nor will everybody agree on everything, nor will everything fit every program.  This will definately fit a certain niche, and I too think that this person/s should indeed be...

    New Beef Registry

Agree with the above and I agree that some registries have issues, especially when it comes to charging $$.  My main concern is allowing anything & everything... just not sure how that is going to work from a promotional stand point.     The Lowline breed calls ALL 7/8 cattle "purebred" (which...

    New Beef Registry

That's my impression too.  Some individual breeders will indeed have a direction, but I can see this thing going in way too many different directions to be very effective, IMHO.

    Fertility question?

Thanks!  That's what I wanted to know.  However, I do have 1 question... What type of nutrition program did you use pre-breeding & during breeding?  I have absolutely no doubt that average to poor milking cows or those on a good nutrition program could do that easily, but what has me surprised...

    New Beef Registry

This is probably a good money making idea for the creator/s of this registry and it looks well thought out, etc.  But, I wonder how well allowing a wide variety of composite combinations all in the same registry is going to appeal to the masses.  Also, IMHO, EPD's are one of the worst things to...

    New Beef Registry

Most of the site is working for me, but the "what is a composite page" is not.  The "composite advantage page" is not working either.  On both pages, all I see is the template & those exact words in blue text where the rest of the text should be & that is all.  Basically, besides the template &...

    Fertility question?

Last year, I wasn't able to pull the bull in one of my herds due to space restrictions.  That herd had 14 spring calvers.  Out of those 14, 9 have already calved so far this year.  2 of them calved around 60 days earlier than last year & 7 have calved about 30 days earlier than last year.  7 of...

    New Beef Registry

I've clicked on that page 3 or 4 times today & everytime I did, I saw no info.  You also didn't answer my question above.

Is this a composite breed or a composite of composite breeds?

    Angus X Mini Hereford calf

Maybe.  Some of those Mini Herf's are tiny, tiny.  If the dam is small & if the bull is tiny, it may be best ending up in somebody's deep freeze.  Without more info & without seeing the calf, it's impossible to say.

    Angus X Mini Hereford calf

Only true if you can register it as a Panda.

    Angus X Mini Hereford calf

Maybe, but probably no more than what it's worth in somebody's deep freeze or at the sale barn.  I have no idea how big it is or how good it is, but it might be possible to sell it to a commercial producer as a calving ease bull.  The problem is, neither Angus nor Mini Herf's have a percentage...

    Schaff Angus Valley Bull Sale

Interesting... My dad is a Conklin dealer & Charlie Herbster visited our place probably 15-20 years ago.  The products are indeed legit, but they are also kinda pricey, IMHO.  You can make some pretty BIG bucks selling their roofing & agricultural products in bulk, if you can find the right...

    yellow fat?

My grass fed meat typically has fat that is a very rich creamy colored fat with a slight yellow tint.  It does indeed look totally different than the grain fed meat does with it's white fat.  However, the meat itself is a brighter red & I've actually had customers who think it is actually "more...

Blue Roan heifer for sale... 1/2 Lowline

She's still available.  However, I have had some serious inquiries, so she may not be available much longer.

Blue Roan heifer for sale... 1/2 Lowline

The sire is 1/2 Lowline (BR Absolut) X 3/8 Shorthorn X 1/8 Maine.  See his picture below.  Not 100% sure what the knot on his jaw is from, but I think that they told me it was some sort of injury or something like that.  Anyway, I think he's a pretty decent bull.  Not sure about the Shorthorn or...

Blue Roan heifer for sale... 1/2 Lowline

Double 1/2 blood Lowline heifer which should increase her consistency.  Her sire is a full brother to the 2008 National Champion Bull & her dam is from Rocking J Ranch (Jerry Adamson - Nebraska) genetics.  She is an extremely docile heifer that we purchased as a pair at the side of her dam.  ...
