Does anyone know how long pot stays in your system, that shows up in a test, compared to alcohol?

    Masculinity in Shorthorns

On a different note do you have a photo of your Denver bull in his working clothes and older? Would love to see how he progressed this summer.

    Tailhead

If I raised that heifer I would be plenty happy and proud. BUT if I was shopping for one that tail head set would make me think twice about buying her.

DING DING DING,,, we have the problem. Go and get a cheap buddy to be with. A calf that is quiet will do him wonders. I would find someone close and feed 2 if the one only goes into the freezer. Find someone close that has one.

    Black noses on Shorthorn

I just asked questions to someone who made a statement. Not sure how that is so bad. Kinda doing what you just said doesn't happen, in trying to think about new views. Maybe the black nose is a mutation. Just like polled was way back when but the polled thing was seen as good and bred for. Was...

Wash Rack Ideas - Good and Bad

Are you using just one side or both to tie to? Attach the hose behind the cattle if possible and high up.

    Black noses on Shorthorn

Do you have proof? Sounds like it has been happening for a long time. How long back is far enough to be a breed characteristic?

    Black noses on Shorthorn

Those cow killers that some keep speaking of, have no personal experience with those genetics and are only preaching what they feel is happening. Take most of what you read here with a grain of salt. Some try to sway with fear and theory, with NO proof.

    Black noses on Shorthorn

Sounds like there are quality issues with judges no matter what era it is. If they were picking on nose colour and not quality.

] . I have looked at livestock that act perfectly fine in the pasture or in the sale ring, only to get them home and have them blow up. I send in blood (I HATE unknowns) and so far, 95% of the time, they have had drug residue in them. So, just because they act calm at the sellers home does...

at the end of the rope

That is my point and another one is that some people are choosing their calves and then complaining about the breeder. Unless you send money and tell someone to send me a calf, it was their choice. Stand behind your decision. She went and looked at the calf, no one sent it to her. How on earth...

at the end of the rope

After reading some of the responses on this thread it makes me not want to sell calves. It is quit amazing how some never seem to want to take responsibility for their actions. It must just be the breeders fault, not what they have or not done.

    Purina Precon Calf Starter???

I have used it for a lot of years. Not sure how many anymore. What I did find this year was that they have a Precon 5 meaning the calves only need 5lbs a day to get the right medication out of it to help with Coccidiosis. The other ones I used it was 10lbs so mixing it was not great as they did...

    new videos

A question that gets asked all the time on here is "what bloodlines should I use for clubby moms" well not just bloodlines should be looked at but a good solid maternal sound cow is what is needed. These bred heifers would be a great buy for a start. I have used this herds cows for that reason...

determining whether a heifer is a freemartin

http://magissues.farmprogress.com/AMA/AM03Mar07/ama028.pdf I have called 4 places and 2 more vets. All have told me that is the Y chromosome is present that enough transfer was done to make the heifer a none breeder or a Freemartin hence the name of the test and condition. Looks like it has a...

That's not true. There is no rhyme or reason or pattern to which side ovulates.
