The topics has been I guess locked-just a response to the quote for the vendors not being able to pull in and sell the stuff without forking up.  The vendors at Jr. Nationals have always donated money to be there, this isn't new and it isn't an exclusive thing for this year.

Sorry, but I have to agree with Doc on this one, a Monopoly is never a good thing for anyone.  There is plenty of room for everyone and everyone has different products they like.  I guess in my opinion most people use Sullivan products, there isn't any reason that I can see to need an exclusive...

Normally as long as you can get that 1st calf out safe and you haven't totally ruined her udder with fat pockets you will be fine.  Good luck with her!

Do you insure semen tanks-inventories?

We weren't actually scheduled to go, it was full but because of the Joplin tornado I guess several of the kids from out in Missouri ended up cancelling.  I guarantee you it was worth every dime, if he comes back next year I'll let you know because we will be back, it was like a stierwalt clinic...

I don't know I got an mail stating that if you wanted to order from someone else they wouldn't be allowed like they have been in the past.  From what I remember there have always been multiple suppliers in the barns I don't remember anyone ever having an exclusive, not sure what is going on.

I guess I don't agree with the theory showmanship isn't about winning, are you always going to win, NO, showmanship is about doing your best at presenting your animal for a judge and if that isn't about winning I don't know what is.   What I can't tolerate is the kids that come out of the show...

We bought ours from Sullivans, can't remember if it was the whole halter or just the strap.  I don't remember it being cheap, but it was worth every penny, works great, just enough leverage to let the calf know the little guys are there.

Haven't seen that, have you asked your vet.  Normal bump there would be a wart, but it doesn't look like that, maybe an abcess or cancer??

We have had a couple do this over the years, they just weren't quite that big when it was happening, donkey will fix his problem.

I guess I'm guilty here because mine isn't insured.  I would think you could find a company to insure the semen easy enough, I would think the embryo's would be a little harder to establish a value on.

Several years back we had a heifer we tried to set up a couple of different times, finally discovered she had been bred before we bought her.  Long story short she ended up calving in September rather than March and everyone was fine.

I always told my husband I don't want living quarters unless it comes with a maid.  Can you imagine that trailer after a week at Jr. Nationals with my 3 boys in it.  There isn't room to walk in there much less live in it, it is a waste of money IMO, I can stay in a hotel from here to eternity...

Analyze This was one of my favorite bulls to ever come out, we actually still have semen in the tank on him, I just have not really ever seen anything out of him.  What did you ever hear out of him or what happened to him?
