    Cedar Fiber

My experience is the cedar will outlast the pine without question. I'll never go back.

fitting up a year old heifer for a show in may

Make sure to do it slowly, but you need to be feeding her closer to 10 pounds a feeding (3%). She also needs to be on a lower protein higher fat feed. Where are you located?

    Careers and Jobs

Lots of jobs in the poultry and swine industries. Got to remember a processing plant is always hiring.

That calf of Kroupas was a Walks Alone if I aint mistaken.

    Johnny Football

Look at the actual angle of her bone design, not the way it is clipped and fitted up. I wouldn't call that straight at all.

    UPDATED - 2 problems with steer(s)

I am also a believer in the Vita Ferm products. As far as the selenium, it would be easier to just order those boluses. That should help you out I doubt it would help appetite, but maybe if they feel better it will get better.

Who will have the best bull in Denver?

And this calf is 9 months old maybe 10. He doesn't look that dumpy. My 1st thought was he actually looked fairly moderate. Judging by shoulder height on those polls, he's not your everyday pud..... The other thing is, this calf is a HW. A lot of those deals have some grow to them.

    Irish Whiskey Semen

What's going on with IW semen going through the roof? Selling for over $400/straw on Griswolds sale, then last night it brought $580/straw on the Webster sale ob Breeders World. I know he is popular and dead, but seems not to long ago, this stuff could be found anywhere for under $100.

Important features on a stock trailer

I understand where you are coming from with the age thing. With that said, I would definite look into what is available as far as financing goes for an aluminum trailor. Yes, you will have to have a cosignor, but really, it is a good way to start building credit and have something that is going...

    Baling corn stalks

I don't know what rounds are bringing price wise, but big squares are at $60/ton in Central Kansas right now.

    Weight Question.

From the looks of the steer in the picture, he will need to be heavier than 1250 to be finished. I would think more in the mid 1300's. IMHO, the worst thing you can do to a calf at this point in their maturity is to back off the grain as everyone is saying, but I really don't see the need to up...

    Hard Whiskey

If I had anything to do with a bull of this caliber and had the option to allow who I wanted to buy semen, then so be it. It's all about marketing. The problem isn't him being bred to cull cows, the issue is him being used on cows that folks should know going in won't click with his genetics...

Best type of mulch for indivizual pens?

No trouble with cattle eating the stuff? I have heard horror stories of what happens when they eat stuff like this. Personally, I love cedar fiber. I typically put down a fair bit of lime on the ground, then just fill the pens with cedar fiber. If you want to cheapen it up a little, you can mix...
