    Ringworm Question

well I'm one of these people that doesn't always use measuring devices when I mix this type of stuff up...LOL I guess if you are using a 4 gallon hand sprayer- I would definitely think that 1 to 2 cups of bleach would be good.  EF

    Ringworm Question

ditto-- bleach mix is best-- we use one of those 2 or 4 gallon hand sprayers to cover everything with the solution and then just let it air dry. Also- don't forget to wash your brushes, combs, etc. with any of the commercial anti-fungal washes or you can use bleach on those too.

Will beef industry transition away from corn?

that is a good idea on substituting another grain source for corn-- milo is interesting So how do you properly feed milo?  Not familiar with feeding it at all.  What do you need to determine to substitute it for the corn in a finish diet? thanks EF

    Field of Dreams

We visited several years ago when the kids were younger.  It is very nice, but I was disappointed due to the commercialization of the parking lot and the vendor stands.  I guess I'm kind of like Charlie Brown on this one-- "it has become all commercialized" (Charlie Brown Christmas).  I wish I...

    Feeding bailed corn stalks

I think corn stalk bales are a staple in Iowa  ;)  We feed them to stretch the hay supply out in the winter.  They are basically good filler and give the cows a "treat" when they dig through the bales and find whole ears or partial ears of corn.  We also supplement during the winter with Mix...

best place to buy high dollar claves

don't forget the small breeders-- great things come from small farms! There are a lot of sleepers and great calves that come from virtually unknown farms.  It's kind of like skipping the giant shopping mall and going downtown to the small Mom and Pop shops on main street-- you never know what...

SW Iowa here--  So far we are looking really good-- got them in the ground within the best timeframes this spring.  Big plants wtih lots of pods so far.  Not a lot of bugs in our fields that we have been watching-- have not seen aphids, leaf beatles.  There are plenty of grasshoppers though...
