Not neccesarily so.  When you sell one to some traders, you may never know where they end up - likewise, when you buy one from some traders, you'll never find out who actually bred them.  Many traders are too afraid they'll lose their sources and their customers if they let them find out about one another.

You are extremely unlikely to ever lean a thing about what happens to any calf that is sold to Bonham.  That is just his mode of operating unless you are very close to him.  Or at least that's the way he used to work.

That is the way he works but had a well know steer trader call today and congratulate use on grand steer at san anton. So were not the only one that thinks that is him.

That pink skin the calf has in the photos should be a pretty good clue.

If you got it done congratulations!  Them calling him a Shorthorn/Charolais cross doesn't mean a thing as to what he really was.  Lautner would probably love to know if an Alias calf finally hit a big one.

I totally understand exactly that you wouldnt know exactly where your steer is- we have one out there right now that we sold (the milkman steer) that has been
traded around several times - it is normal for what I call big time steers to be frequently traded around so who knows where they really end up- actually if anyone
has seen that milkman floating around let me know we would love to know how he is doing or looking, last time I heard he was looking awesome-

Baileyfarms- congrats if you raised him-  hopefully you will find out- it will be GREAT advertising to you!!!!!!!!

I really do hate that, I can understand if they don't want the breeder to advertise it, but I would just like to know.  We have been lucky enough to have other breeders out there that have always let us know.  I do know know Bobby May is good about letting you know, you may give him a call if you have a great one to sell.

Call Maddox he'll shoot you straight and tell you if he honestly knows where he came from, or atleast what he was told when he was sent south.
