Do any of you have other suggestions beside i80 for this red cow?? That will definitely work??
Nobody can tell you what will definitely work. Picking breeding options on cows that you haven't had calves out of is more of an educated guessing game, you look at what your cows needs (in your case a better front end), then you choose your goal for the calf, then you make your decision. Couple bulls I would look at that haven't been mentioned for maternal heifers would be Mercedes Benz and Simple Math. I'd advise you to spend a night looking up as much info as you can find on the bulls that have been suggested then decide which YOU think will work best in your situation. Good luck!

so your saying that mercedes benz or simple math will work on this cow to give him a powerful club calf?
Haha you got me! I looked at the post over and over trying to figure out why you would think I meant that, then I looked and saw it wasn't the OP! Well played Jody!

jody good job, on lightening the mood a bit. and carlson do your research before you start asking questions, they have a search bar on here for a reason. look up bulls, search what genetics work with heatwave genetics. avoid linebreeding her she has enough front end problems, hun unstoppable is heatwave genetics look past just the sire or the dam look to grand dams and grand sires genetics as well. keep in mind judges and breeders dont want market steers as heifers, theyd rather have a smooth, sound, feminine, deep bodied heifer, with plenty of hip. heifers that are too muscular of fat, don't milk, have hard times getting bred, and have a hard time calving, generally, yeah theres some exceptions but don't chance the problems to get an exception. i don't have heatwave in my breeding herd at all, but if i did id be using I80, mercedez benz, meyer genetics, and wmw genetics. i might use thriller becus of his smoothness and he is sound and i plain like him hed be the ONLY heatwave genetics id ever use on a heatwave influenced female. or you could avoid the clubby and aim for heifers and breed angus, ull get deep, smooth, feminine females. and you should still get enough bone, muscle and hair. you'd also be able to sell steers because theyd be black and a person can get premium price when they are finished.

Just say what you want to hear and then say it to yourself.

Honesty, you have more than enough information to your question and at this point  <deadhorse>

Up to this point you have PLENTY of suggestions... Good suggestions... If you're not going to take the advice......

Go open up a sire catalog to a random page and play eenie meenie minie mo....

Or just breed her to a Brahman... Guaranteed winner there
