Hello! I’m new here. This is my first year showing a steer through my local 4h club. Any and all tips are welcomed!
e music on and jam out while I clean my steer! you know you are doing good when your steer is cleaner than you are! haha! I have had steers with barely any hair and steers with lots of hair so let me know what you got! what breed do you have? how much are you feeding per day? would you mind showing me a pic? I hop you have a great time doing 4h! don't get discouraged by your first year. we did several jackpots during the year on my first year and I won NOTHING. but at the end of the year, my steer sold for $500 less than the grand champion! and I didn't even win! Keep it up! If you have ANY questions, give me a reply!Hello! I’m new here. This is my first year showing a steer through my local 4h club. Any and all tips are welcomed!
Thanks for the tips! I actually do use a speaker when I’m in the barn! He’s an angus. I’m feeding 4oz Powerfuel, 1 Ibs PreCon, 8 Ibs Rival Beast, per feeding + free choice hay. Last meeting he was 860 Ibs! So I think he’ll be a good weight by fair time. I’m going to be taking some pics here soon! So I’ll post some when I take them! Thank you again!Work Hard! I know it is difficult to get up in the morning and have the motivation to rinse/wash your steer but its worth it! I like to put som

Good! if your cow is a bit spooky, you can play music while you are gone to get him used to the noise. is he hairy or not? What breed is he?Thanks for the tips! I’ve been playing music a lot! He’s actually pretty hairy he does have a few bald spots but there filling in nicely. He’s a pure breed angus. Out of curiosity he has this gray wart looking thing right behind his ear, what should I do about that? I was thinking maybe I should cut it off, but I wanted to double check just in caseGood! if your cow is a bit spooky, you can play music while you are gone to get him used to the noise. is he hairy or not? It's probably a wart. If your confused you can ask someone like a leader in your club to look at it. I prefer using a pair of pliers to pull off the warts. It's much safer incase your steer throws his head. Also, put the wart in his grain so that he eats it, and builds immunity. You might have to pull it off a few times if it grows back.I’ve been playing music a lot! He’s actually pretty hairy he does have a few bald spots but there filling in nicely.
