Neilburg, SK...yup, the 1st Maine-Anjou female to be flushed I believe - do you know who she was flushed to?

Cette-La.

You got her Jack - as the story goes she had 20 some grade 1 eggs but only 10 recips ready (before eggs were frozen) - 8 pregnancies resulted from the 10 recips including PTR Epinal 80E, PTR Epinal 81E, PTR Epinal 82E, PTR Epic 83E, Sundowner Epinal 84E (aka PTR Epinal 84E), and Calling View Teton Apparently there was one heifer calf PTR Miss Epinal 85E.

Clearly the cow was flushed to Epinal :)

There are numerous pedigrees which go back Epinal x Cette-La. You will find this mating in many great Maine pedigrees and often times linebred. I think she was a very special cow to have been flushed.

I was at Biench's ranch at Neilburg, shortly after the 8 ET calves were born. Cetta-La was also there and she looked amazing. It will be 40 years, next spring, since I  was there, but I remember that visit as if it was a few weeks ago. I find it interesting how memories of great visits and great events will stay with you for a very long time. I could have purchased my pick of these ET calves that day for $20,000, or purchased a half interest in Cetta- La for $20,000. Mr. Biench was a quite a salesman and he did his best to sell me something. He would have made a fortune if he had been a salesman as he loved to close a deal. He was a very religious man and he insisted that I stay for supper and go to church with him and his wife.  I reluctantly went with them, but I remember Cetta- La and her ET calves the most of the visit!!

Only one female was the result of the flush - the other 2 were born in 1975 and 1979 - flush mates were born in 1973

my bad, didn't read close enough.  just wanted to point out that two other calves were born and nothing came of them.  obviously lots came from the bull calves.

there is a pic of calling view teton in the fullblood pic thread

Wow I wasn't sure anybody would get that unless they saw the ch brand

I was digging around trying to find out why Krugerrand of Donamere 490 is no longer listed in the Angus database when I stumbled upon his sire. I have seen all the bulls in the past, but Stacker was a tough one.  Funny that Stacker (Donamere's sire) and Krugerrand Moneyline and Merger (Donamere sons) are all listed but not Donamere 490.

Here's a bull that was famous in his time as were a lot of his close relations.
Wouldn't mind using him today!

I believe this is Avondale or his son Lord Avondale.  I don't know much about these bulls so I'd be interested in the history lesson.
