Shorthorn Bulls to Use on Angus Heifers?

I'm planning on buying some commercial Angus (They will be pretty much purebred) heifers this fall and am looking for a Shorthorn bull to AI them to in April-May 2020. The heifers were born in January/February 2019. I'm looking for a bull with good bone and structure, that doesn't lack in growth and is 100% Shorthorn (Or very close). Needs to be a proven heifer bull, no high birth weights. Some color would be nice too (Love those flashy calves). Any suggestions?

Yea, I probably wouldn't. If you are talking about Phildon JBS Fringe, he has probably one of the highest BEPD in the Shorthorn breed. I would be hesitant on breeding a cow to him.

I definitely like what I'm seeing out of KOLT Kane Nitro, so he will definitely be one that I consider.

I love Hot Commodity, just not sure if I want to use him one first time heifers (Due to them sometimes being pains), but I do like Sultan of Jazz. Good looking bull, a relatively good BW, good structure, and nice color. Will have to look into them all a little more, but I do really like those two.

Sultan of jazz and Fringe are at opposite ends of the spectrum in all regards.  Not sure how they could both be phenotypically appealing to the same person.

Gilman’s envied is a bull I’d recommend here.

Hot Commodity is fine for 1st calf heifers. Wouldn't hesitate for a second to use him on 1st calf heifers and have. Just won't get a lot of color on Angus heifers. Plus $100/straw. If color is last requirement then besides Kane Nitro I recommend SLF Red Hot Commodity (Hot Commodity son we have) $25/straw. We have very good results with him on heifers and cows. We had Champion Purebred and Champion Plus heifers with his daughters at TN Agribition this year.

Waukaru Goldmine 2109 is totally heifer safe and made some really good cows here and the steers weren't throwaways, we used him over ANxSimAngus cows/heifers. 
Don't know how they'd do in the showring, but as productive commercial beef cows, they've been perhaps the best sired by any of the half-dozen or so Shorthorn sires we've used.

This is Homeplace Hot Commodity triple clean -He froze semen after being on cows as a long yearling and it is headed to CATTLE VISIONS as we speak-Hes got CE and highly documented cattle for many generations behind him-Hes now getting fat on very little-he has 3 Pacer Performance dams in his pedigree-and his dam by Wildside is really good-Dale wouldnt sell her-I dont blame him (Wildside was ALSO CE AND STILL BREEDING COWS AT 13 OR SOMETHING) This bull will probably throw solid colors-I like him and docs bull Both have genetics that have really worked with black cattle-AND ALOT OF HORNS DO NOT NICK -FOR WHATEVER REASONS- O0

Our Homeplace Hot Commodity 1625 has CEZ quite similar to the old Hot Commodity, and we have not pulled a calf from either of them.  The confidence level on calving ease on 1625 will be higher after we have our fall calves born.  Most modern cattle have some higher growth not far back in their pedigree, so now and then a heavier calf is born. 

One of the very best for having good growth and yet, sleep at night calving ease, is KL Prime Time Teddy.  Teddy needs used more.  Likely both of our 4-H heifers going to the local fair will be Teddy daughters, and we had Hot Commodity daughters born at the same time that are not going to the fair.  Teddy has plenty of growth to go along with his great calving ease.  If there is a roan or white bull with as much calving ease as Teddy and also as much growth with some accuracy, someone needs to say so.  A few people are skeptical of EPD's but EPD's are still the best prediction of calving ease, especially when Teddy has sired 232 calves and is in the top 1% in calving ease direct.

I’m hoping the bull I got in the past whos your daddy’s sale, Saskvalley Editor, meets this description. He was used by Saskvalley on heifers and he’ll have several proofs coming from my herd.  He was collected on the farm Friday.  175 units.  Twenty bucks/straw if you or anyone want to use him some in a reported contemporary group.
