Stoopsey is always brought up.  If not for the leave of absence announcement.... I would say something like.... "if you can't beat em.....    join em"

I used to respect Meyer, not now.... now he's just another "I'm going to leave football due to (pick your reason)...........  Oh never mind. Football would never survive without me, so I will 'sacrifice' my family and health to 'save' football."

Can anyone say "Brett Favre"????

I have to disagree with you show heifer lol, I attend many UF games and Follow them from scouting to game day and Urban Meyer is relentless in his pursuit at Making a team a national contender and winner. Look at what he did in Utah. He pours his life and soul into Football and when your life becomes in danger especially when your dealing with chest pains and a possible heart condition you step back because you need to focus on your health. Well thats what he did and he thought he could step away but come Sunday morning when he attended practice he couldnt bring himself to walk away like that, its in his blood. And Brett Favre may retire and unretire but thats cause he's a gunslingin young jessie james at heart and he's addicted to the thrill and he can still throw the pigskin, he's not a lazy bum that just goes three and out all day or throws the ball and sits there watching the play happen, I remember the second or third game of the season he ran 40 yards down the field and landed a block on a safety for a touchdown. Thats Brett Favre

I do not question his ability to coach, he has proven himself many times. His ability to recruit, and coach is not in question.
What I question is his lack of forethought. Why make a huge "retirement" announcement on Saturday night during the bowl games, 1 week before your own big sugar bowl game? When in less than 12 hours you changed your mind. Seems either lack of thought, a panic stricken knee jerk reaction, or something else no one has thought of.
I would like to think that if I have to make such a HUGE decision, I would take some time, think it out, weigh out my options,  then make a decision and STICK TO IT. And if he did think long and hard about retiring, why did it take less than 12 hours to suddenly change it back?
I don't know.... just seems like a favre thing....

Well imo odds are after the Alabama game when he went to the hospital he probably started to think about it then and finally made the decision but had a change of heart the next day when he realized what it really meant. I honestly don't think this was as "spur" of the moment as it was said to be. It was more a "big" shock lol. I do understand what your saying though lol

Can't stand Favre and the way he has behaved the past few years.  Football is a team sport and he is worrying about him, not his team.

I'm not sure Meyer made the big announcement Saturday.  He probably told his AD and who knows who else who then let it out to the media who blew it up before Meyer had his own press conference.

I can't stand how college football coaches jump in and out of contracts.  But then again, it's way too easy for colleges to fire them also.

Ok, y'all hang on  (clapping) I'm going to have to agree with SH on this one (there I said it)  (lol)  I don't know about the Farve deal, but I think this would have shown a whole lot more class if 1. He made a decision after all of the options were thought over 2. He would of waited until after his season and bowl game were over so it didn't totally disrupt the team he loves so much, it just leaves a bitter taste for someone with such class and prestige not to be able to make such a decision that impacts so many peoples lives without a little more conviction and forethought, if you want to quit, do so, if not, shut up and think about it in private.  As chambero said, "Football is a team sport and he is worrying about him, not his team."

Or maybe,  lets change it to a leave of absence, calm the waters and keep Florida's top 3 recruiting class!  Than in mid February, through further evaluation by my doctors I've decided retirement is the best scenario!  Something sounds fishy to me!
