Granted, the parents coverage cant cover them forever, but I think that extended period will be immensly helpful to them financially.

why not just make if forever? won't it just help them more?

that's the beauty of individual pools.  you make your own rules for who can be on coverage and for whatever treatments you want and negotiate with a provider.

It would indeed.

dusty: Nagging witch? Well, I prefer "Not going to back down from bullying, and I don't care what you think, I have my OWN opinions thank you very much"  atttitude. Yours has fewer letters. Mine is more accurate.

advocate: Before you start picking on ANYONE, let alone herfball, you had better walk in their shoes.  Best leave him alone.
Another thing, what in the heck does "your name is fitting throwin a fit bellarin and pi##%  in all over everybodys stuff."  mean?? Your high IQ apparently lost me. My bad.

Back to the conversation: I just talked to a health insurance agent, and his words "I can not see into the future, and it all depends on who you talk to, but I look into the future and see that private insurance will go up over 200%, and most people will have to go to the gov't funded insurance."  So I guess it is a wait and see "game".
I can not see any way this bill is going to help insurance rates, or health care. But from what I have been told by obama, "The people will soon understand and realize I did what is best for the American people."

i'm pretty sure there is a difference between "the people" and the "American people".

in obama's opinion, it is best for American people to give up what they have worked for.  when you get something for free at up to 400% of the poverty level, what incentive is there to try and earn something beyond that?

"the people" refers to the proletariat.  americans refers to people to take stuff from.

I don't see how insurance companies will be able to stay in business.  They can't afford to insure people like they will be required without raising their premiums to rates that no one can afford.

contrast that with the democrat view that tax revenue and printing money is infinite and you can provide infinite benefits.

we all know that won't happen, as the government will do what it always does.  ration for the people, excess for the elite.

in the democrat world, there are just a lot fewer elite.

As i understand it....it will be best to not get insurance and pay the fine. Then when you get sick just apply for insurance. You can't be denied. This is going to be a mess.

sounds like you are for the fair tax and putting a limit on taxes which puts pressure on cutting costs rather than just taxing people more to give infinite benefits to people who don't pay into the pool because there's no "their's" dime for too many people (400% of poverty).

works for me.

the administration has beat beck/palin/banor/cantor/limbaugh/ and the rest of them at there own game...... at least the generation of social secrutiy and medicare legislatiors had a bit of class about it....cant wait to see them run in november on repealling health care/ social security/ and medicare.....they can pick up right where goldwater  left off.....about a poppular idea now as it was then...jbarl

The USA is the only industrialized nation in the world with no universal health insurance for its citizens.  We are also ranked 37th or so by the world health organization in health care in the world:

Rank       Country

1         France
2         Italy
3         San Marino
4         Andorra
5         Malta
6         Singapore
7         Spain
8         Oman
9         Austria
10        Japan
11        Norway
12        Portugal
13        Monaco
14        Greece
15        Iceland
16        Luxembourg
17        Netherlands
18        United  Kingdom
19        Ireland
20        Switzerland
21        Belgium
22        Colombia
23        Sweden
24        Cyprus
25        Germany
26        Saudi Arabia
27        United  Arab  Emirates
28        Israel
29        Morocco
30        Canada
31        Finland
32        Australia
33        Chile
34        Denmark
35        Dominica
36        Costa Rica
37        United States of America
38        Slovenia
39        Cuba

So, what does this mean.  The insurance companies, whom I worked for 9 years, could care less about your health.  Same for pharmaceutical companies.  Our health system is broke.  We need universal health coverage.  We just had a baby and it cost for normal delivery $13,000.  No individual health policy would cover it.  I am sure this Obama deal is a mess.  But, the insurance companies need to be stopped from killing people.

Hey I'm with ya as far as something needs to be done. But do you think the federal government give a crap about YOUR health? I wish that the states were stronger and the federal gov't used for more interpretation and enforcement of the Constitution and foreign relations rather than trying to control every detail of everyones lives. Just saying, if this thing goes through, where does it stop? How hard is it to go from Government controlled health care to Government controlled car companies (hmm?), to Government controlled Co-op farms, to Gov't controlled everything?  I don't wanna be a doomsayer, but it REALLY could  happen. Obama said it would take time for this to really work, and if it REALLY works, we'll all be sorry.

your fears and speculation don't mean crap.  you're complaining about not having my money before every meal.

your fear and speculation that more people can't pay for their own health insurance is total  speculation and fear.

what does your 17% pay for and what was your effective tax rate last year?  mine was 6%

i agree to take away the tax break on interest on home loans, property tax, points on loans, and all subsidies in return that ALL citizens pay tax so they have an interest in how their money is spent, otherwise there is no restraint, something you seem unwilling ever to give up if it's someone else's money.

what's your ideas?

so, you didn't mention cash income eh?

BS.  all those countries combined will never donate as much as the US does to all the rest of the world.

why didn't you go to a midwife for your baby?  i mean really, what's so difficult about delivering a baby?

you didn't have to have a baby.

insurance made 3% last year.  microsoft made 25%.  insurance companies have to buy products from companies like microsoft to stay in business, yet no one is screaming for microsoft or oracle's head.

first they came for the insurance companies.
then they came for doctors.
then they came for hospitals.
then they came for nurses.
then they came for the admin personnel.

sounds like all anyone needs is a boogyman, yet NO ONE will vote for anyone other than a D or R.  wake up people, they will not solve our problems which is them.  all they know how to do is buy your vote.  it's worse than the US government used to do with indians and liquor.  same deal in the end.  the end of freedom.
