What do you think of this heifer?

She's pretty slick... Free moving, flex and a super reeved-up pedigree. Make a cow out of her and have fun breeding her numerous ways.  She 'll sell in the classified.

    Charolais Flush Options

Bells and Whistles looks like a good one. He is certainly powerful.

    Gvc Suh 01W

Have followed him some. He can throw some stout ones. Would look into what cow families or breeds he has worked best on. Green Valley Maines would be the place to start. ZNT Cattle has a very nice son out of a Maine with a touch of Chi X Angus. Nagel's also has some experience with him.

    Rat Tails...

Not genetic. Thanks for clarifying. Was looking at several super looking calves but not much tail hair. A good reminder how cold the weather was.

    Rat Tails...

Have seen a good percentage of rat tail (short tails) show calves, out of popular genetics, in this years calf crop. Can some enlighten us as to what is going on genetically? I thought this was primarily in some Charolais genetics. Is Grizzly Bear, Ready to Rumble, etc. carriers, or is it coming...

Opinions would be great !! Show Bull Prospect??

Really like that little guy. His skeletal design is just the way I like them. Nice genetics, too. Should show well if he gets thicker and has a good scrotal measurement. Hope to see  his progression.

    I80xDream On Heifer

She should make a very good, functional cow. Hard to beat her genetics. I like her for those reasons.

Right on the money, Gargen. He's a good one.

Update to "Keep as a Bull or Steer him" Clark Club Calves

He has the genetics for making some showy calves. There's a fine line when it comes to structure and he might be balancing on it. I think he would work best on some straighter bred Angus or maybe Hereford/ Shorthorn type cows to power them up.

    Monopoly x Heatwave matings...

I have seen several impressive champion steers of this mating combination and was wondering if this is going to be a new trend for producing show steers in the future. Are some breeders just using clean HW cows to get these good ones? Would this be a more consistant mating then, say something...

    Breeding suggestions

I think she could work with Daddy's Money if you like adding more Maine genetics.

    Maine Sires?

For power, overall balance and pedigree, I like Daddy's Money. Thriller has produced some good ones as well. You might consider a clean IW son instead of Whiskey himself.

    North Texas State fair string

Really like those calves. I live in Dallas so I might be able to make it to the the fair. Always a fun show. What is the time and date?

Ways to tell straight front end from pics and videos

I think you're absolutely correct Chambero. The Etulason x Cunia combination (Power Plant) may have been the primary root of the problem. Many Popular Clubby genetics go back to him. Who Made Who all the way to Heat Wave. Infusing ChixAngus genetics compounded the situation on those front ends...

Ways to tell straight front end from pics and videos

I raised some Maines in the early days and never had any problems other then some lines that were arthritic. Most of those lines soon got culled. The Cunia's were even sound on all F1 domestic matings. I feel it might have been linebreeding some lines with ChixAngus that may have created some...

Ways to tell straight front end from pics and videos

Super explanation OFS... The scapula and every other section is integrated to perform like an efficient shock absorber. When the overall design is too steep then the structure will be compromised. Bucking over at the knee socket is a classic example of incorrect angles through the shoulder.

What do you think about this steer?

I think he's a pretty nice looking calf, especially with him poised so casually. Once you get his head up and loin him with some added hair to fill in the holes he will look pretty salty.
