Shorthorn Cow - Full Sib to Waco - Opinions?

What are your goals for the flush?  I think you could have a lot of fun If she were my cow my goal would be to produce brood matrons so with that in mind I would first flush her to your initial thought with Captain Mark.  He is the ultimate cow maker in our experience. Captain Mark was a bull...

    White shorthorn bulls

10G is a closed herdbook Shorthorn but we only have a small supply of his semen left which we have plans to retain and use in our ET and AI programs.  I am not sure who else may have some but I doubt it would be available, that is why I had not mentioned him  :)

    2015 Shorthorn Bulls

We have had a lot of success with Diamond Prophecy 21P.  He has sired some of our most outstanding females in the herd right now, as well as producing sons that have worked very well in both purebred and commercial operations.  I have attached some pictures of his daughters and the son we are...

    Exciting Times For Canadian Shorthorns

Sometimes we get stuck in a rut of negativity but for our breeders I think nothing but positive is happening.  At a sale I attended on Friday where Black Angus, Red Angus, and Shorthorns sold the breed averages had Shorthorns on top with $6700.00.  High selling Shorthorn bull was $7250 low...

    Winalot

I have heard a lot of rumors about a  lot of different bulls over time.  Most of which I would put money on was started by rumor mongers.  You are the first person who has ever mentioned 80C which I have either seen or heard.    I see you were unable to mention where you had heard it from? ...

What would the Shorthorn breed look like today if Improver was never imported

I wasn't going to weigh in on this thread as what has been done is done.  Everything is now in hindsight and what ifs solve absolutely nothing.  I do believe that breeders use animals as building blocks and each of the offspring that was retained was used to enhance each individual breeder's...

    Is this an Australian bull?

TNT Legacy was a herd bull we used not at all the same sire http://www.diamondshorthorns.com/legacy.html

    Our Red Angus bull

<beer> He is an outstanding looking bull.  Sometimes I don't agree with a judge, or am unable to follow their decisions but I was taught at an early age that it is one person's opinion for one day.

The Cow Who Started It All-for me

My first cow was given to me by Miss Olive Aldridge in 1989 when I was 2.5 years old which would explain how OA Diamond Julie's Baroness 29Z spent her life being referred to as "Baby Julie".  This cow has shaped my program most females I own going back to her either from daughters or sons. I am...

    Closing the tank CWA sale

Would that not limit the number of potential buyers? I for one am interested in some of the bulls in the tank but due to only owning a few cows 500 units would be a large cost that couldn't be justified (married to a cost manager now!)

    All Star Classic Shorthorn Sale

Off topic but the embryos I got by Rama out of 2X from JIT are hands down one of the best investments I have ever made.  Whoever got their blood siblings made a great purchase!

    How old is this bag?

I unfortunately haven't got any other females out of old Julie aside from the 2 mentioned.  She has had mostly bull calves and daughters have been sold as sale features (not bright of me!)  Would love to see pictures of your bull calf!

    How old is this bag?

Today is a very happy day Diamond Julie Baroness 8J is going to be around next year as a 16 year old. She is officially in calf to Northern Alphonso. There is nothing better than getting to keep your 4H heifer another year. Pictured with her 203 day Herbourne B Manitoba Gus 13Z bull calf who...
