    Blaze simmis for calving ease

On Angus heifers Dream On throws a lot of solid blacks. Possibly try a son like Pathfinder or Built Right.

    Blaze simmis for calving ease

His accuracy on all CE and BW are both in the .9 range.  His CE is pretty much unmatched.  You will still get some big ones as with any bull  (my last two out of him were a 90 pound bull, and a 98 pound heifer).  However as a rule they come very easy.

    Grandmaster Simmy bull

He honestly looks like he could be the next really good one in the Simmental Breed.  He is outcross to Dream On, has been throwing some great calves, and his numbers are outstanding. Check out the Back to Basics Sale.  (Eberspacher website)  They have several calves out of him on the sale, plus...

    Heritable Docility?.........AI Bulls Docility?

Talking to a guy at the yards, they have long had the nickname Looney Bastard for Lucy Boy calves.

    Cattle lot help needed

I need some thoughts on what I can with our cattle lot this spring. Our cattle lot currently is nothing short of a mud bog.  To get in and out of the cow barn, cows literally walk through mud up to their bellies. My thoughts are when it does finally dry up this early summer to change it...

    Simmy breeders - Sundance Kid

Any other calves out of Select Sires Sundance Kid yet?  I saw two of them this weekend.  A nice little red bull calf out of an older Black Destiny daughter. He has lot of depth and decent width.  The other was a black bull calf out of a halfblood heifer.  The calf did require an easy pull but...

I was pretty shocked to see it was a bipartisan effort.

Im new and wanted to share a few of our calves

I have always wondered, how does one go about clipping calves that small.  Squeeze Chute? I like the Jimmy the Greek calf by the way.

    Latest on the "Cow Tax"

There was legislation introduced yesterday that would kill it once and for all.  Hopefully this can pass quickly. http://thune.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?FuseAction=PressReleases.Detail&PressRelease_id=1640f3ef-02e7-4618-bd72-36bbd5ffc69d

Does Goldmine normally throw a lot of white, or is that from the heifer?

    Calving Problems?? What are they??

Could be a lot of different things.  Most of the time it is related to the position or the size of the calf.  Here is a good website with a lot of different articles.  Look specifically at Calving Time Management. http://cowcalfcorner.okstate.edu/archive.htm

2 weeks late or 1 week early

Do Climax calves normally come that "small".  I thought they tended to come a little bigger.  297 days gestations would be pretty long.

Star Power - Not for Heifers?

I am a bit concerned by the change of numbers from last year to this year.  I recently bought a Red Caesar daughter bred to Star Power for an October calf.  She is a .7 on BW and a 7.3 in CE.  She has me a bit nervous already. His numbers went from a 12 in CE and a .3 in BW to a 7.7 in CE and...

    Are hogs easier than cattle?

Hogs are much easier.  Just for the turn around time alone.  Gestation length is shorter, time to raise to breeding age is much shorter.  Many offspring as opposed to 1.
