What is his name?? does he add power cause this cow needs power what bull will do that??

If it's the red cow in the picture, she looks like she has plenty of "power" for a female and BTW she looks like she may be an exception to the NO Heatwave cows because they don't milk rule.

With all of the crapshoot associated with club calf genetics all you can do is pick a bull and use him.
Calves are not predictable out of crossbred bulls used on crossbred cows.
You'll have more predictable results using a purebred bull on the crossbred cow and vice-versa.

Try Smilin'Bob or Choppin' Wood on your cow.  It will be really good or just plain common.

Smilin'Bob's brother Captain Morgan throws thick calves too.

wouldn't one simply have more predictability buying what they want and save money?

Well you don't have to find a cow, raise a bunch of calves to see what works, then it only works once anyway , so then u start to think about flushing to reproduce it, then u feed all the additives, use the original heatwave instead of a clone and u still don't have a calf as good as you can buy relative to the show u want to be in and then someone pays 20k and wins anyway.

I have no way of knowing nor does anyone else.

Probably useful would be to go to someone's place and see what they had that label the ear tags of calves with sure.

I'm not saying don't use him, just to look at what types of cows these people have to help you decide what type of cow to have to give you the most flexibility for success.

What are you looking for from the offspring?  You said show cattle?  Steers?  Haired or slick?  Breeding stock?  Chi or Maintainer?  There's no one right answer but you need to answer these questions to be able to narrow it down.  And then, like someone else said, look at what other cattle are turning out like out of similar matings.  Then, you'll have to decide.  YOU will make the decision.  We all can't make it for you.  We can only suggest some options.

Well, if you're looking to build a herd, then look bulls with good maternal traits.  Who Made Who, Ali, and Meyer bred cattle would be a good bet.  I do like the I-80's I've seen.  Just be careful on your heifer the first time or two as I've been told they can give you trouble calving.  Good bulls that would give you nice, marketable calves would be Northern Improvement (Angus) or Jake's Proud Jazz (Shorthorn).
