Here are a couple of photos of Moombi Powerplay.  But if BS knew everyone that had some involvment with the bull he would probably lose all interest.

Thanks vcsf, I knew someone would have them!  <beer>

TDU would you have a picture of WYARAMA VICAR or WYARAMA PEPPER ?

I'm in the process of tracking them down for my personal records. My mate's dad and grandpa bred both bulls so he's seeing what he can scrounge up  ;D Wyarama have used some Vicar and Pepper semen the last couple of years and they've got some great calves out of both bulls.

You mean North Americans do. Here Down Under - where, just for the record, everyone agrees it's much more fun  ;) - we call everybody mate  (thumbsup)

hey TDU??  what can you enlighten us about moombie powerplay?  or the other AU bull that has slipped my thoughts at this particular time frame that I see in quite a few pedigrees...  Not Venture...

What do you want to know about Powerplay? Your description of the other Aussie bull doesn't help me... I was thinking either Super Dazzler or Belmore Ultra-Bright L22. Or the Mandalong bulls....

I talked to someone at Cagwins sale one year that was here from "downunder" (can't remember who) that said Ultra-Bright was actually a better bull than Dazzler.
Another bull that was used up here was Polldale Nonstop. On the right cow I thought he could really click. Martindell Farms bought a son of him at Shadybrooks that was out of an Irish Lassie cow. I really liked him, they just had deeper pockets than me that day.

IMO, Belmore Ultrabrite may have been as good an Aussie sire to ever be used here. I absolutely love his daughters and grand daughters. They are thick roomy females that stay in great condition. I have been trying to find semen on him for a few years as everytime I find an  Ultrabrite daughter in someone's herd, she is the best female in that herd.

I came close to buying the North American rights in Moombi Powerplay but my late friend, Craig Andrew purchased the Canadian rights. What I could never understand was that he was promoted to us as being 9 generations polled breeding on both sides of his pedigree, yet I would venture a guess that over 50% of his calves came horned. i have often wondered about his pedigree, and suspect a little Maine snuck into it!.

We had a Polldale Nonstop bull named CCS World Connection and he was out of the same cow as AF Warrior. World Connection did a very good job for us, and I still have some semen left and I am flushing a donor to him in two weeks. I owned him with Huberdale, and he died the day after he was brought in from breeding cows as a yearling at Huberdale, when he rolled over into a rut and bloated. Saskvalley purchased a syndicate interest in him and they had some super cows out of him as well. Don Cagwin told me that Nonstop was the most structurally sound bull he had seen, and he felt he was exceptional in his joints.

WHat I am saying- is that there is NOT an option for a TRUE outcross in the breed

If you want an outcross, look at another country ie Australia.

Here is an interesting Aussie bull, he does have a little over a 1/4 North American influence but just one of many examples!

How 'bout those precise color designations. "Red little white" I like it

Check out the color codes of the American Milking Shorthorn Society...

I tried to find a listing online-- but couldn't.. I will have to look up a reg. app when I get home tonight to find the options... I remember about 10 or so...

Moombi Powerplay was the sire of JSVT Outback. That was the best one I ever worked on out of Moombi Powerplay

more details man...

You already said moombi sucked, why are you running at the mouth?  Now a son can be good?

Your customers may find out you can't decide what is good or bad.

The day you are consistent or clear or humble about anything is a day that will never come.

Gotta believe the customer list for people like that is enough to be either a bull maker or bull producer.

The only reason I am posting pedigrees on this thread is to give some perspective to BS's premise that every Shorthorn bull available is related in the 6th generation! It's true that most of the current show animals are very closely related(based on the animals on the Hill in Denver) but there are still lots of other options. The BS posts a lot but other than being negative and kicking stones I have no idea what his goals or breeding program is about.
Here's a couple of more Aussie bulls.

Pedigrees for above bulls. They are from the same herd but don't look very related in the third generation!

.

My breeding intentions- have very little- to nothing about what I post..
Most of what I post-- are unanswered questions, or just random thoughts.  Most of the time, my posts and thoughts-- are just to get the other people (reading) to open their eyes and ask questions.. Just to turn on the lightbulb- per say- and maybe think outside the box...

The only following I can do to you Okotocs-- is you only post pedigrees, mostly of animals that the concensus has never heard of.  You post alot- but rarely respond to questions asked upon you-- and never respond to someone else posting pedigrees that might Triumph yours.

I ask you- old man Okotocos...  what is your goal in posting?  To be able to be seen as the one who can research a pedigree-- or the one promoting your genetics???  I've seen more of the same ole same ole pictures of your herd sires on here-- why not save yourself the trouble0- and post a direct link to your website all the time?

Jody I have some really interestingly bred horses that have what I consider pedigrees but I have not posted them on steer planet as most people don't give a flying banana about said Thoroughbred  and Sport horses.  I think your post about the sheep pedigrees lands in the same category of my horses irrelevant when discussing cattle pedigrees.  Perhaps your trying to bring awareness but you always do it in an aggressive and at most times offensive way

Jamie: I thought it was a discussion about pedigrees and linebreeding... not necessarily beef cattle linebreeding and pedigrees.

Jamiediamond,I don't mean to dilute the meaning of your post but I wouldn't mind seeing a few of those Thoroughbred pedigrees.
