The reason "most of the consensus hasn't heard of these bulls" probably has a heck of a lot to do with the fact that everyone is focused on using the same bloodlines; those that are proving successful in the showring, in the States. Nothing wrong with that, it obviously works for them.
BS, if you were to take yourself north and visit some Canadian herds, you would find a ****e load of different genetics. They may have common ancestors - that's the norm for most any breed these days - but have a look at the way these genetics have been mixed to achieve different results for different programs.
The same goes for Australia. Being separated by the pond has meant we've developed our own programs and there is a lot of diversity between herds. As always, it's personal preference what direction someone takes their progam and boy do we have some differences in opinions!
In fact, you really should go on a tour. You might learn something new. I always do.
