OK ! Here's the short answer for my breeding program . Right now breeding a few of my Shorthorn females to Northern Improvement to get some quality replacement females that I can breed for steers or for Shorty Plus calves. I done the Angus/Shorty cross for some time and really like the quality of those halfbloods. So, my concentration right now is more toward the Shorty Plus side of the Shorthorn deal.

I owe CAB a beer or other suitable beverage for reminding me a year and half ago to give Northern Improvement a try on crossbred cows.  One of the best Chi heifers getting shown down here three years ago was a Northern Improvement out of a Full Flush GD.

Anyway, I used him on some Golden Child heifers and got a real good one.  She is a little pet my youngest is showing for his first calf.  Best calf I've ever had out of a heifer.  I'll get a picture of her up, but she is the prettiest fronted calf you'll find.  She could be a tad bit deeper bodied, but otherwise she'll run with anything down here I think once I get her fatter.

This is the best photo I have of the Northern Improvement x Golden Child heifer I referenced above.

When I get down in that Fort Worth area, I'll take you up on that beer Chambero. Cab.

 Nice feminine looking heifer.

To heck with the cute calf.  How about the cute kid. (Calf looks good)  but I love the pictures of the kids as they are starting out.
